Pakistan's chief of selectors and manager Moin Khan wants bold steps to be taken to lift the squad's performance ahead of next year's Cricket World Cup following a disastrous tour of Sri Lanka.
Pakistan lost the two-match Test series 2-0 and went down 2-1 in ODIs on last month's tour, a failure which Khan said would affect World Cup preparations. Khan said that it has an effect on the minds of the members of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after he met with the board's chairman as part of a review of the tour.
The chief of selectors said that time is short for the World Cup and they have to take bold steps and they will take bold steps in the betterment of Pakistan cricket, The Dawn reported.
Khan, while warning that underperforming players could be under threat, said that everyone will try his best to understand and as soon as possible improve it in the next series.
Pakistan next play Australia and New Zealand, both in United Arab Emirates, from October to December.
Khan meanwhile refused to comment on Misbah-ul-Haq's captaincy, saying that it is not his domain, and added that if his feedback were sought only then he would say.
Khan said that the team had enjoyed stability under Haq but also acknowledged that the skipper was in poor form.
