Defence Analyst Captain (Retd.) Bharat Verma on Sunday predicted that the ceasefire violations by Pakistan would increase in the coming days and said that by now the Indian army should have retaliated on ten different places as an answer to Pakistan's firing in Poonch and Kachanak district in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The ceasefire violations from Pakistan are going to increase in the coming days. They will continuously try to infiltrate into India. In Poonch firing or Kanachak firing, by now Indian army should have retaliated on ten different places simultaneously. We are in dominating heights and in very good positions across the border and we could have caused huge collateral damage," he said

Bharat Verma further criticized Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and the Defence Minister A.K Antony and alleged that the Indian Army has been ordered not to retaliate which is not good for the morale of the army.

"Unfortunately due to gag from the Prime Minister or Defence Minister, the Indian army is not retaliating but this not very good for the morale of the Indian Army. It is an unfortunate thing because if you look at Gen. Bikram Singh's statement in January, he said I have ordered my troops to retaliate. But now has he (Gen Bikram Singh) being given gagging orders by the PM not to retaliate?" he said.

"There is a heavy anger against New Delhi's order because they are getting killed and they have no reply because there are orders from Delhi not to fire in retaliation," he added.

Earlier on August 6, five Indian soldiers were killed by Pakistani Specialist Forces on August 6 along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch District.

"It is now clear that Specialist Forces of the Pakistan Army were involved in the attack. Those in Pakistan who are responsible for this tragedy, should not go unpunished. Our restraint should not be taken for granted," said Antony.
