The mortal remains of Indian ayurvedic doctor Bina Kanojia arrived in Mumbai on Saturday morning, over a month after she was found hanging in a hotel room in the United States.

Kanojia, a divorcee, had left for Arkansas with her fiance Shailesh Vora, a neurologist, about six months ago.

Her family has alleged foul play in Kanojia's death. They have accused Vora of murdering her to claim her insurance money.

"A conspiracy was planned to kill her. He (Shailesh Vora) managed everything there and has given all wrong information. He said he got married to her, we asked for papers, photographs which he did not

send. Later he said they got divorced, but did not provide us the papers. She got shifted in the hotel even that was not informed. On April 12 around 2 am, April 13 in India, we got a call from a third

person informing your sister has committed suicide. According to us, she cannot do it," said her brother,Mayur Kanojia.

Vora had reportedly told the family members that they had a fight three days before she was found hanging in a hotel room.

Sister of the deceased, Sangeeta Kanojia, said the suicide note left behind by the deceased reflected the torture inflicted on her by Vora.

"He (Shailesh Vora) said in the police that she was mentally not fit and the doctor said 60 per cent of such patients commit suicide. He has executed the crime and had planned it very well," she said.

The family expressed gratitude towards the Indian embassy for helping them procure the autopsy report and demanded police action against Vora and sealing of his property.
