An MoU has been signed between Indian Yoga Institute - Krishnamachargya Yoga Mandiram (KYM) - and Huzhou Taihu Tourism Resort to impart Yoga training through Indian teachers for next five years in China's Huzhou city.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the ocassion of the second curtain raiser event to the third International Day of Yoga Celebrations organised at the Moon Square Lakeside Scenic Area in the Huzhou city.
Welcoming the introduction of Yoga in the Huzhou city, Ge Wei, Vice Chairman of Huzhou CPPCC, said, "With a large number of Yoga clubs in Huzhou, the city will become the second home for Yoga practitioners from Eastern China."
Wei further announced that for the next five years, Huzhou would be taking the lead in hosting mass public yoga events to mark the IDY celebrations.
This event is expected to give a further boost to deepening of ties between India and the Huzhou city, he added.
In the Eastern China region of Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu, the third IDY celebrations are being organised by CGI Shanghai from June 17 to June 25, one day each across ten cities in ECR, with theme of "Ten cities, Ten Days, Bringing together 15000 Yoga Lovers closer to India - promoting healthy and harmonious lifestyles!"
The grand finale will be held on June 25 in Wuxi at the foothills of the scenic Lingshan Temple, where nearly 10,000 Yoga lovers are expected to participate in a record setting event in mainland China.
The Huzhou city leadership recently visited India in April 2017 to forge a deeper economic and cultural cooperation. Huzhou also hosted the India Culture Week and India China Business Forum in the second half of 2016.
