Newly appointed Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is aiming to surpass legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson's record of winning two Champions League trophies.
In his first press conference after being officially unveiled as United manager, Mourinho stated that this job had come at just the right time in his life, adding that the challenge wouldn't make him nervous because of his previous experiences with big clubs, Sport24 reported.
Mourinho, who was axed by Chelsea in December months after winning the Premier League title due to a string of bad results, replaced Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, which had a topsy-turvy season under the tutelage of the Dutchman.
The Portuguese manager had guided Chelsea to a Premier League and League Cup double in 2014-15 season. He was previously shown the door by Chelsea in 2007 after a successful three-year stint at the club in which he won two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup.
Mourinho, who had also coached Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Porto in his glittering career, also said that United legend Ryan Giggs chose to end his partnership with his boyhood club because he didn't get the top job.
