Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said that he is ready to let Italian footballer Matteo Darmian leave the club only if a right option comes in as his replacement.
The comment came after Darmeian indicated towards leaving the club in order to play more regularly, reportedly, after seeing his opportunities limiting under the manager.
"Matteo wants to leave and I think when a player wants to leave if the right offer arrives you have to try to be human and let the player follow his instinct but not at any price," Sports24 quoted Mourinho, as saying.
"Until now, the offers we got for Matteo are not even close to being accepted. If Matteo leaves he leaves because the right offer arrives and if he stays, yes you are right, he can be important for us," he added.
The club are short of options on defence side after their captain got injured during a match against San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday. He has been ruled him out for the remainder of their pre-season tour to the United States.
