Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that the addition of a 'killer' striker to his squad will be the key to the club beating stubborn opposition next season after his side's Premier League title hopes were all but over with a 0-0 draw to relegation-threatened Norwich City.
Mourinho said that Chelsea, who also lost recently to Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Sunderland, do not have the kind of striker able to, in a short space, to make an action, to score a goal or to open the gate.
According to the BBC, Mourinho said that against the teams that are more defensive, more aggressive or more worried about trying to keep a clean sheet than really to play, Chelsea keeps saying the same.
The Portuguese added that in matches such as the ones they have drawn, one just needs to open the gate, because when one does so, the gate is open and they win much more, adding that Chelsea were not able to do that.
Mourinho said that they have to try to win as a team, to improve as a team, but also add the attacking player with that killer instinct and the number of goals that push teams to different levels.
Mourinho further added that getting a killer striker is something that their club is going to try to do, respecting obviously that they have good strikers.
