Norwegian Ambassador to India, Eivind S Homme, on Wednesday lauded Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi for his vision and said that he was moved to hear the latter's speech at the award ceremony in Oslo.

"Fantastic representative for a vibrant civil society here and also international champion for child rights. Most of us were really moved to hear his speech, to hear him reaching out to everybody and his visions for future," Homme told ANI here.

The Norwegian envoy said that Satyarthi and Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai, who jointly received the Nobel Peace Prize for 2014, were embracing and supporting each other like brothers and sisters.

"It was really wonderful the way they were embracing each other and supporting each other, like brothers and sisters. She is also a fantastic person who is doing a lot and you hear her talking about education for girls. In fact, they have much in common," he added.

Satyarthi and Malala were conferred the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize today for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education.

This is the first time that an Indian and a Pakistani have jointly received the Nobel Peace Prize.

Speaking at the ceremony in Oslo, Satyarthi said that he represented the sound of silence and the cry of innocence. He also said there was no greater violence than to deny the dreams of children.

"I represent the sound of silence and the cry of innocence. There is no greater violence than to deny the dreams of children. The single aim of my life is that every child is: free to be a child, free to grow and develop, free to eat, sleep, see daylight, free to laugh and cry, free to play, free to learn, free to go to school, and above all, free to dream. Shackles of slavery not stronger than the quest for freedom," he said.
