Moving to NY City is not on Queen's to do list

Rumours that Queen Elizabeth II has bought a Manhattan condo at Zeckendorf Development's diplomat haven, 50 United Nations Plaza have been proved wrong.

Denying the report that the Queen spent 7.9 million US dollars from the royal purse on the 3,000-square-foot pad, sources revealed that her Majesty will not be stepping foot inside the Norman Foster-designed building anytime soon as the actual buyer is the New Zealand government's UN ambassador, reported the New York Post.

The buyer was recorded as her Majesty the Queen in right of New Zealand, but Gerard van Bohemen has signed the deal as the new permanent representative to the UN for New Zealand, a former colony that still retains the queen as sovereign.

Though she is constitutionally referred to as "her Majesty the Queen in right of New Zealand," the purchase merely refers to her as ceremonial head of the New Zealand government.
