Manchester United boss David Moyes has insisted that the club is capable of winning the Champions League following their win over Olympiakos.

Moyes said that although they might be the 'underdogs' in the draw, but 'genuinely' believes that United is capable of winning the title following the clubs 3-0 win against Olympiakos at Old Trafford.

According to the Mirror, the Scot hopes that his squad could be the competition's dark horses and said that if the team displays its 'capabilities', which they have not done too often this season, they could be a 'match' for any team.

Moyes reportedly praised striker Van Persie, who scored a hat-trick against Olympiakos, as well as United legend Ryan Gigs, who was recalled to the side a played key part in the first two goals.

Moyes said that although Giggs is 40, he defies his age and is a 'great player' adding that the midfielder's 'all-round' play was really good and his first two passes made two of the goals.

The boss also said that Van Persie, who left the pitch on a stretcher in the 90th minute due to a knee injury, is one of the players who can score a hat trick in the Champions League, which is a 'big thing'.
