Manchester United boss David Moyes has said that Wayne Rooney is a 'legend' and backed him to become the club's highest-ever goal scorer.

Rooney, who recently scored twice in a 2-0 win against West Ham United to take his tally to 212 goals, is currently the third highest goal scorer of United.

According to the BBC, Moyes said that if someone is the third top scorer of a club like United, he is already a 'legend' adding that the striker has a real 'appetite' back again.

Rooney scored twice in United's victory against West Ham and took his season's total to 15 goals.

Moyes also said that as long as Rooney does not pick up any serious injuries, he has a real good chance of breaking Dennis Law and Sir Bobby Charlton's records adding that it would be some feat to watch.

Rooney is at the third position in United's highest scorer, 25 goals behind second placed Dennis law and 37 behind the highest-ever scorer Sir Bobby Charlton, the report added.
