Manchester United manager David Moyes has reportedly said that Serbian player Nemanja Vidic will remain in his post as captain of the Old Trafford side until the end of the season despite Inter Milan announcing the defender will join them in the summer.
Vidic revealed that he would be leaving Old Trafford after more than eight years earlier this year and Inter Milan has confirmed that he has signed a pre-contract agreement with them and will move to Italy in the summer.
According to Sport24, Moyes insisted that Vidic's move will not affect the captaincy but said that he is now keen to see what younger defenders Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans can do in the final weeks of the season.
Moyes further said that he wants the youngsters to show him what they are capable of, adding that he will be looking forward to introduce them in the last few months of the season.
There are also doubts about the long-term futures of Vidic's fellow defenders Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra, the report added.
