Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich, who was embroiled in a controversy over donation to anti-gay marriage ballot proposition in California, has reportedly resigned.
The company issued a public apology saying that while Mozilla prides itself on being held to a different standard and it didn't live up to it this past week.
Mozilla said in its blog post that it knew why people were hurt and angry, adding that they were right because the company did not stay true to itself, the Verge reported.
The move comes less than a week after Eich was appointed the CEO of the company.
Meanwhile, the company is yet to decide on who would be its new CEO.
