For failing to pay the bribe to a revenue department official, a poor farmer hailing from Tikamgarh tied his buffalo to the officer's four-wheeler.
Speaking to ANI, Laxmi Yadav (50) alleged that the official had demanded Rs 1 lakh as a bribe and he had already paid Rs 50,000 to him to get his land transferred in his name on papers.
"I have paid Rs 50,000 earlier, but did not had money to pay the second instalment and therefore brought my buffalo and offered him," he said.
Vandana Rajput, SDM Baldevgarh, while speaking to media stated, "complainant Laxmi Yadav alleged that Nayab Tehsildar demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for two cases pertaining to the transferring of the land. I then contacted Nayab Tehsildar who clarified that Yadav had applied for mutation of two cases of land. The first case was of his Guna village which was disposed of in Lok Adalat."
"The tehsildar told me that he had told Yadav in a proper manner but instead of following his directive, he levelled allegations and created drama. When I contacted Yadav, he gave his written complaint," she added.
