Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Tuesday accused Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan of attempting to save his former Cabinet colleague Raghavji, who has been finally arrested on charges of sodomy.
"First of all, I would say that whatever Raghavji has done is something which is condemnable. And I think, Shivraj Singh Chauhan tried his best to save him, but ultimately could not," he told the media here.
Raghavji, who recently quit after being accused of sodomy, was arrested earlier in the day.
According to reports, the police arrested Raghavji from a flat in Bhopal. He was untraceable for the past two days.
The former Finance Minister was missing with his family ever since the police registered an FIR against him in the sodomy case on Sunday evening.
Raghavji had moved an application for anticipatory bail in the local court in Vidisha on Monday citing that he is "incapable" of any sexual act following prolonged medical problems.
He had resigned from his post on Friday after an obscene CD purportedly featuring him surfaced.
