Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Tuesday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh over the flood situation in the state following heavy rains.
The duo also held discussions over good governance and the peace process.
"We held general discussions on present political situation in Jammu and Kashmir, flood situation, peace process, and good governance. I have informed the Home Minister about the present political situation and the measures that need to be taken for good governance," said Sayeed.
The threat of flash floods loomed large over Jammu and Kashmir earlier this month due to continued unseasonal rains reminiscent of the September 2014 floods which wreaked havoc in the valley.
Hundreds of people fled their homes as main rivers began to swell and weather forecasters predicted further downpours in the region. At least 15 people died in landslides and roof collapses in the region.
