The Mumbai police on Thursday arrested a man from Ahmedabad for allegedly threatening Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi on Twitter.
Following the arrest, Priyanka took to social media and thanked Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Delhi and Mumbai police.
"I would like to thank @MumbaiPolice , @DelhiPolice , especially @IPSMadhurVerma and @CPDelhi . Also my gratitude to @HMOIndia & @rajnathsingh ji for taking this up," she tweeted.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Deepak Deoraj told ANI "On immediate call we acted on the matter. A team was sent to probe the case and the accused was arrested in few hours. Today, he will be produced before Mumbai City Civil and Sessions Court in connection with the case,"
Congress spokesperson Chaturvedi had filed a criminal complaint on July 3 against the troller, who had threatened her on Twitter with the rape of her 10-year-old daughter.
After the threat, the Congress leader took to her social media and brought the attention to the Mumbai Police's notice. A complaint has been filed with the Mumbai Police, who have assured her prompt action.

Chaturvedi took to Twitter on Sunday and revealed that a troller, @GirishK1605, threatened to harm her daughter.
