Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Gopinath Munde on Thursday said that his party would win more seats this time in Maharashtra.
Munde, who attended a meeting of the Maharashtra BJP party workers and some other senior leaders that was presided over by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, said that his party is devising a strategy to ensure that it garners more votes this time.
"The alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena has won even 33 seats, Last time we won 23 seats but this time we want to win more than 30 seats. We are devising a strategy for the same," he said.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said Modi, who has appointed as the poll panel chief, is on a tour of different states of the country to review the party's campaigning strategy to suggest new ways to woo the common man and win more seats in the elections.
"He is now visiting all states, and in that effort he has come today to Mumbai and will be discussing the electoral nitty-gritty, particularly the electoral scenario of Maharashtra, as far as the parliament elections are concerned," he said.
Modi, who arrived in Mumbai earlier this morning, met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray at the latter's Matoshree residence here.
The meeting is seen as an attempt on Modi's part to pacify sulking Udhav Thackeray, who had earlier expressed his displeasure over the Gujarat Chief Minister's tall claims of rescuing 15,000 Gujaratis from flood ravaged Uttarakhand.

Thackeray had, however, later defended the criticism against Modi published in the Sena journal, and said that the latter being seen as the country's future Prime Minister should not have just come to the rescue of the people of his own state.
The Gujarat Chief Minister's meeting with Thackeray is also seen as an attempt by the BJP not to take risk of losing another crucial ally after the exit of Sharad Yadav-led Janata Dal (United).
Modi is also scheduled to unveil the agenda for 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
He will also be addressing a business meet later in the day.
