Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray has admitted that he could be a bit rusty when he makes his first competitive start since winning the men's singles crown at the All England Club, as he returns to action at the Rogers Cup in Montreal on Wednesday.

According to the Mirror, Murray, given an opening round bye, takes on either Grigor Dimitrov or Marcel Granollers, in action during the early hours of Wednesday, for a place in the third round.

The Scot took a fortnight off to recover in the wake of his Wimbledon exploits, and then spent two weeks training at his Miami base, the report said.

Murray has been in Canada for the past week, spending up to three hours on court every day in preparation for the defence of his US Open crown at the end of August, the report added.

The US Open champion said that it would be a tough start for him as it was always when one had not played for a few weeks, adding that the transition from grass to hard courts was always a little difficult.

The Scot said his priority was the US Open although the Masters Tournament was something that he considered important too.
