The District Magistrate of Muzaffarpur on Friday suspended the weapon license of Brajesh Thakur, the prime accused in the Muzaffarpur shelter case.
The District Magistrate, Mohd. Sohail also ordered Thakur to surrender his weapons within 48 hours.
Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assured strict action against the accused in connection with the case.
Addressing a gathering at "Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana" programme, Kumar said, "This incident has ashamed us. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the case. The High Court should monitor this case."
