Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe might be trying to sell the country's atomic plants abroad, but his wife, Akie, may not support him.

During a speech in Tokyo on June 6, Akie said that she is opposed to nuclear power and her heart aches to see him selling nuclear power overseas, the Japan Times reported.

Akie's comments came a day before Abe and French President Francois Hollande made a deal to help each other to develop and export nuclear power technologies.

An ex-radio DJ, she told the publication that she thinks that it's an important technology, but it'll be better if Japan can use part of the money used for nuclear power to develop new energy and sell Japan-made clean energy overseas.

She said that she is the opposition party at home, but tries to say it euphemistically so as not to hurt him.
