Reports about UFO surfaced, earlier this week, after a mysterious, glowing teardrop-shaped thing was seen flying in the sky above Phoenix, Arizona.
However, the National Weather Service revealed that the so-called UFO was a HASP 643N - a High Altitude Student Platform balloon that was sent up to research things like wind patterns and air quality, Fox News reported.
They revealed that it was a project of the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility, which according to its web site, launches large, unmanned, high-altitude research balloons.
Though the balloon facility is in Palestine, Texas, the former-UFO HASP balloon was launched from Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
