The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) deliberated and exonerated its former president N Srinivasan of all charges in a meeting on Tuesday, adding that it will support Indian Premier League (IPL) chief operating officer (COO) Sundar Raman in court.

"The meeting went very well. Considering Srinivasan's issue, after reading the Supreme Court's report and after discussing with our lawyers, we have decided that Srinivasan is not a tainted person," BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel told the media.

"The BCCI has so far kept dignified silence on the issue. We have full faith in the honourable Supreme Court's decision and we will abide with whatever decision they come up with," he added.

Patel further said that the BCCI will not take any action against Sundar Raman till the apex court gives its decision in the ongoing case.

"There is no issue surrounding Sundar Raman. Like everybody is given the opportunity to explain himself, we have decided to allow him to present himself in the Supreme Court and whatever the Supreme Court tells us ultimately, we will take a decision based on that," he said.

On Monday, the Justice Mudgal Committee report gave a clean chit to Srinivasan after the Supreme Court disclosed the names of a few personalities who were probed by the committee for alleged links to the IPL spot-fixing scam. The names disclosed by the apex court included that of Srinivasan, Raj Kundra, Gurunath Meiyappan and Sunder Raman.
