The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned an amount Rs. 273.06 crore to the Andhra Pradesh Government under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for Rural Water supply, Road and Bridge projects.
The NABARD has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 166.51 crore under the RIDF XXIII as loan assistance for development of 114 roads and three bridge projects in 12 districts of the state.
The projects involve laying of new roads in rural areas and widening and strengthening of the existing ones to improve the rural connectivity.
Out of the sanctioned projects, 95 roads and two bridge projects will be implemented by the Panchayati Raj Department and the remaining by the Roads and Buildings Department.
Apart from the above, 422 Rural Water Supply projects with an assistance of Rs. 106.55 crore were also sanctioned.
The projects will be implemented by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department and upon completion; potable water would be supplied to around 500 habitations in 13 districts of the state.
With the recent funding, the total sanction to the Andhra Government under the RIDF Tranche XXIII (2017-18) by the NABARD has now touched Rs. 465.45 crore.
