World number three Rafael Nadal's return to tennis after nearly six months away was hard to miss, thanks to the Spaniard's pink florescent pink tennis shirt and a neon yellow wristband to mach his sneakers.
Nadal kicked of his Australian Open campaign with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 win against first-round opponent Mikhail Youzhny.
Nadal revealed after his win that his many months away from the tour because of injuries and an appendix surgery had battered his confidence, Sport24 reported.
However, the commentator responded by pointing to Nadal's shorts and saying he that suspected the Spaniard didn't suffer from lack of confidence.
The commentator told Nadal that he doesn't believe many men could pull off that pink reflector, drawing stadium-wide laughter as he pointed out the neon pink stripe down the side of Nadal's white shorts.
Joining in the laughter, Nadal said that these were his 'party' shorts for the past couple of months during his time off. He added that he just likes bright colours.
Nadal claimed that Australia is a happy country, a sports country, adding that people there bring him positive energy, so he insisted that it's the right place to wear that.
