The world's top two seeds, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic will meet each other in Sunday's Sony Open final after both of their opponents pulled out of their respective semi-final clashes in Miami.
The second-seeded Serb progressed when Japan's Kei Nishikori withdrew from their match with a groin injury while the Spaniard went ahead after Tomas Berdych was laid low by gastroenteritis.
According to the BBC, the seventh-seeded Berdych said that he woke up early in the morning with pain in his stomach, while Nishikori, who beat Roger Federer in the quarter-finals, revealed that he knew there was a problem when he could not move from side to side during his morning warm-up on Friday.
The report mentioned that Djokovic, who is trying to win the Miami title for the fourth time, also had a walkover in the third round when Florian Mayer pulled out with a groin injury.
Nadal and Djokovic will meet for the 40th time on Sunday, with the Spaniard 22-17 ahead in their personal battle but having lost the last two encounters, the report added.
