Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal, who is set to compete in this week's Rio Open tournament, has said that he was not scared by the rapid spread of Zika virus in Brazil.

The 14-time Grand Slam champion downplayed the outbreak, saying that everyone was going about their business despite knowing the risk of contracting the virus, which has infected 1.5 million people in the country since early 2015, Sport24 reported.

Brazil, which is due to host the Olympics this summer, has been most affected by the mosquito-borne virus that has spread rapidly through Latin America and the Caribbean.

Echoing similar views, compatriot David Ferrer revealed that he was getting obsessed by the whole thing and said that they have been assured by the authorities that measures are being taken to eradicate mosquitoes carrying the virus.
