Nagaland MLA and Advisor to the Chief Minister, Merentoshi R Jamir, was conferred Aadarsh Yuva Vidhayak 2015 (Ideal Youth MLA) at the 6th annual national conclave of Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (Indian Students Parliament) held at MAEER's MIT campus, Pune.

A Grand Citation, shawl and Trophy was presented to Merentoshi by Speaker, Chhatisgarh State Legislative Assembly, Gaureshankar Agrawal, Fomer DG, Bureau of Police Research and Development, Dr. Kiran Bedi, IPS (Retd) and Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram.

The Ideal Youth MLA award is conferred by the Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad Foundation to 16 young MLAs from different states and political parties of India.

The idea is to encourage youth participation in politics by recognizing the positive change these young legislatures have brought in the society.

The Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad was launched in 2011 to revolutionise the mindset of younger generations; and to ignite their spirit to enter public life with a purpose to serve the nation.

It is an apolitical outfit and does not engage in any mainstream party politics.
