Ousted Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi has said that he will approach the Pakistan Supreme Court to challenge the Islamabad High Court's decision of reinstating Zaka Ashraf as PCB chairman.
The Dawn quoted Sethi, as saying on Sunday that the high court's judgement would be challenged "vigorously and swiftly."
He said that all the good steps taken to professionalise and invigorate cricket in Pakistan and clean up the PCB would not be allowed to go in vain.
It maybe recalled that on may 17, Islamabad High Court Judge Justice Noorul Haq N. Qureshi had set aside the Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) issued by the Nawaz Sharif-led Government which brought Najam Sethi in as PCB as chairman and also reversed the termination of 38 PCB employees carried out by the Sethi regime.
A veteran journalist, Sethi reiterated his stance of correcting and cleaning up the board's system and indicated at conducting elections in this regard.
The frequent changes in PCB's set up has raised concerns in the International Cricket Council (ICC), which finds it difficult to finalise important issues with frequent changes in Pakistan cricket management.
