Describing Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi as a 'part time leader', Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday said the former has increased the duration of his party's 'political exile' by 20 years by disrupting the Monsoon Session of the Parliament.
"By disrupting the entire Monsoon Session, Congress' part time leader Rahul Gandhi has increased the duration of Congress' political exile by 20 years. Congress is fighting for its political existence, and if they think that they can move forward by indulging in this kind of nuisance and non-sense, then they are mistaken," Naqvi told ANI.
"The country's progress will continue under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and no one can stall this," he added.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) has been convened today amid indications that it may convene a short session of Parliament for passage of key bills.
The ongoing Monsoon Session of the Parliament, which has been rocked by relentless opposition protests, concludes today.
