Narendra Modi to address mega rally in Delhi today

Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will address a mega rally in Delhi today.

The BJP says that it expects at least five lakh people to attend the event.

According to television reports, an 80x40 ft stage has been erected at the sprawling Japanese Park in Rohini in north-west Delhi where the Gujarat Chief Minister will be delivering a 45-minute-long speech and will later unveil his 100-feet-long portrait.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened in and around the venue and arrangements have been made for medical and fire services.

Around 3,000 policemen and paramilitary personnel will also provide security in and around the venue.

Special buses have been arranged to bring in students and supporters from far-flung areas of Delhi.

Diplomats from 40 different nations are likely to participate in the event. Sportspersons, ex-service men, former senior bureaucrats have also been invited.
