The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) of India has formed a special group to address the growing business opportunities in the Analytics and Big Data space.
The Analytics Special Interest Group comprises members of the analytics industry, the academe and government, and will provide leadership on structuring growth strategies for the country to achieve its goal of becoming an analytics hub.
According to Enterprise Innovation, the announcement was made at the NASSCOM Big Data and Analytics Summit 2013 in Hyderabad.
On the occasion, NASSCOM also released a report on "Risk and Procurement Analytics" to show key drivers and emerging trends for risk and procurement analytics, potential opportunity and India as the leading analytics' sourcing hub, the report said.
Som Mittal, President, NASSCOM, said that need of the hour is the development and nurturing of the ecosystem including leveraging the analytics applications for various sectors of the industry.
Mittal added that the primary role of the interest group would be to help increase the visibility and relevance of the analytics in Indian context, to consult and equip analytics providers with requisite capabilities to deliver analytics projects successfully and to address the talent gap for meeting burgeoning demand, the report added.
