Devotees on Friday morning were seen taking holy dip in Haridwar's Har ki Pauri ghat on the occasion of Ram Navmi, which is being celebrated all across the nation today.
The devotees were also seen performing 'Ganga Aarti' on the occasion.
The festival of Ram Navmi marks the birth of Lord Rama. President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted the people on the occasion.
Extending the greetings and best wishes on the occasion, President Mukherjee said, Lord Rama was an embodiment of the divine on earth, and he taught how to live in accordance with dharma. The President said, let us, on this day, resolve to follow at all times the highest moral and ethical values.
Vice-President Ansari, on his part, said that may the life of Lord Rama inspire everyone to uphold his noble ideals and high moral values.
He said, let us commit ourselves for building a prosperous, peaceful and harmonious society.
