Pakistan's Accountability Court on Monday conceded to Nawaz Sharif's demand to be lodged in Kot Lakhpat jail, also called Lahore Central jail, and not in Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, where he refused to go.
"The Accountability Court, headed by Judge Arshad Malik, approved Sharif's request to be lodged in Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore," News International reported.
Former Pakistan Prime Minister has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment following his conviction in corruption and money-laundering Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference case, a day ahead of his 69th birthday.
In addition to this, the former Prime Minister was also fined USD 2.5 million. However, he was acquitted in the Flagship Investments reference.
