Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed to help facilitate peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban.
The comments from Sharif came while speaking after meeting Afghan President Hamid Karzai in Kabul.
According to the BBC, Sharif said that meetings would be encouraged between Karzai's representatives and Mullah Baradar, a former Taliban commander released from detention in Pakistan last year.
Afghan officials believe Baradar's presence is important for any talks to be successful.
Karzai has said he believes Pakistan has a high degree of influence over the Afghan Taliban, which Islamabad has strongly denied.
