In a shocking revelation, Anup Thakur, a member of the Military Commission of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army, has confessed to his role in stitching a bomb inside the body of a CRPF Jawan in Jharkhand on January 7 this year.

Thakur was recently arrested from a hotel in Muzaffarpur in Bihar.

His confession has revealed a dark side of Naxals who are openly violating human rights.

The savage act has been condemned by many human rights activists.

"It's an unspeakable crime in the sense that these kind of things are done. I can understand that these kind of things are done in war but if you cannot give somebody dignity while he is living I think you can give some dignity to a dead body at least. I think it's a barbaric act to do this kind of a thing, to booby trap bodies of slain soldiers or slain civilians for that matter," said Sushant Sareen, an expert on security affairs.

Rising Naxal violence in the country is a cause of concern to the government and people alike.

Following the recent Naxal attack on the convoy of senior Congress leaders in Chhattisgarh which killed 29 people, there are plans to take tough measures to combat 'red terror'.

However, experts believe that these measures should be taken along with development of Naxal affected areas to effectively resolve the problem.

"Ideally, you should create conditions where the attraction of Naxalism is not there at all and that can be done if some kind of development activity, and I don't necessarily mean that you set up steel plan or some other kind of electricity plan or whatever other plants you want to set up, but general local development where people have a stake in that development," Sareen added.

Naxalism is a serious threat to the internal security of the nation.
