Mumbai Police have confirmed a robbery of an ATM van in broad daylight on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Virendra Mishra said that more than half of a sum of Rupees two crores was looted from the van on Friday afternoon in suburban Vile Parle by four persons, including one of the employees of the security firm.
"The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. in the afternoon. The ATM van started from the Lower Parel area and was stopped by another car. Three people came and took the cash away," said Mishra.
"We are investigating from every angle with the available clues," he added.
According to the police, a manhunt is on for the security guard, identified as Sadre Alam, and his three associates.
The ATM van contained Rs. two crore, 36 lakhs, out of which Rs one crore and 95 lakhs was being taken away by the miscreants.

The police also said that spiked drinks were used by them.
An FIR has been registered at the Vile Parle Police Station.
