Makers of the Sonam Kapoor starrer 'Neerja' wanted the film to be tagged as tax free and seems like the Maharashtra government just gave them what they wanted.
The 30-year-old actress recently took to her Twitter handle and announced the news by writing, "A big Thank You to the Government of Maharashtra for making #Neerja tax free with immediate effect. Humbled."
Previously, the director of the flick Ram Madhvani said in a statement that they would very much like that the film be made tax free so that stories like 'Neerja' can reach to maximum people and more people can remember her.
'Neerja' narrates the story of a Pan Am purser, who was shot while saving passengers from terrorists on board a hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 on 5 September 1986.
