Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner has confirmed that veteran paceman Ashish Nehra will miss couple of games after suffering a groin injury during their opening match of the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

"Nehra has hurt his groin. He will be out for a couple of games. It really hurts when one of your bowlers goes down," said Warner after his side lost by 45 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.

Sunrisers bowling attack further depleted as pace spearhead Nehra hobbled off the field after bowling just 2.1 overs.

Royal Challengers exposed Sunrisers listless bowling attack as they went on to post a 228-run target, thanks to AB de Villiers (82), captain Virat Kohli (75) and a late flourish from Sarfaraz Khan, who smacked a quick-fire 35 off mere 10 balls.

Warner, who smashed a brisk 25-ball 58, admitted that his side failed to sustain the momentum despite receiving a promising start.

"We didn't execute as well as we wanted to at the end but we need to take positives out of there. I felt we got off to a great start but lost wickets in clumps. A big hundred was required from the top order but none of us were able to do that," the explosive batsman added.

Sunrisers will next play against Kolkata Knight Riders at home ground on Saturday.
