Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia on Saturday took potshots at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, and said that the latter was not acceptable to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as well as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

"Whenever anything new happens in the party Narendra Modi feels that it's for him. But the ground reality is that at present, neither the NDA accepts Modi nor the BJP. Not only this, whenever they are asked they say that they haven't made any announcement for the Prime Ministerial candidate. Some even say that if Modi's name comes then they will either leave BJP or NDA and many have already left also," he said.

With its agenda as good governance versus bad governance, the BJP yesterday announced the formation of 20 panels to focus on various aspects of electioneering for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls under Modi's leadership.

BJP leader Ananth Kumar, who announced the list of 20 campaign committees, said they will be steered under Modi's leadership.

Kumar said senior BJP leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Krishna Advani and party chief Rajnath Singh will oversee the functioning of central poll panel, which is headed by Modi.
