The Nepal Government has decided to sack Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Managing Director Gopal Bahadur Khadka for his failure to speed up the commercial deal to import fuel from China and multiple cases of irregularities in oil distribution.
"We have given him two days to clarify his position on the issues that have surfaced in the media," said Minister for Commerce and Supplies Ganesh Man Pun.
Facing the blockade at Indo Nepal border by Madheshis against the new constitution of Nepal, the Communist government of Nepal wants oil to be imported, but despite all efforts it was not successful.
Sources from Nepal Oil Corporation said that it has informed the government of Nepal that import of crude oil from China is not practically feasible.
The erstwhile Sushil Koirala-led government had appointed Khadka as the managing director of state oil monopoly in January for a four-year term.
