The ongoing Delhi World Book Fair at the Pragati Maidan here has attracted publishers and book sellers from across the world, including neighbouring Nepal.
The Delhi World Book Fair, which is held for the last 41 years, is now a major calendar event in the publishing world. The fair opens an avenue for the foreign exhibitors in exploring variety of publications in all the domains.
The aim of this book fair is to promote reading habits, especially among the youth.
The authors, readers, publishers and all those associated with book industry converged at the exhibition ground. The book fair is an ideal destination for promoting titles, co-publishing arrangements and facilitates the exchange of copyrights.
Publishers, book sellers and authors from nearly 30 countries are participating in the event.
Nepal is looking to expand their publishing industry with the assistance of Indian counterparts.

"Our education system goes together with the Indian education system. We rely on Indian publishers and now-a-days we have started our own publications in Nepal. We still read Indian books as reference and course books also," said Santosh, a book seller from Nepal.
The delegates from Nepal are hopeful that more publishers from the Himalayan nation participate in the event in future.
"We have displayed some books that are receiving good response. So, hopefully our publishers will be here next time," added Santosh.
The book fair provides a platform for publishers to interact and know each other.
The event, which has been organised by National Book Trust, will conclude on February 22.
