Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli has appealed to foreign countries to help in making his government's new development goals a grand success.

Addressing the nation on the occasion of the 68th Democracy Day of Nepal, Oli declared it the start of a new era of development, and called for proportional rather than absolute development

.

"We (Nepali citizens) have arrived to this point of time overcoming various obstacles and averting adverse situations, defeating the then absolute rulers. The time which we have gained now is not possible through absolute development and it also hinders the timely constitution we have adopted. I hereby make an announcement of the great campaign which always will serve the relative development with drafting of relative polices which will bring happiness and prosperity over the face of people," he said.

"In order to make it successful, I also appeal all the native, well wishers and the foreign countries to come participate and help in this move," he said in an address at the Army Officers ground in Tundikhel.

The day was marked with a parade by army and police personnel.
