Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Saturday said that party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav is its chief patron, as he has nurtured it since its inception and called him 'Baghban'.
"Netaji has built the party and I consider him the 'Baghban' of the party. He is a father as well as the party chief," he said.
"What problem can a father have with his son? Only that he should meet him and consider his advice that is for his well being?," he added.
Azam asserted that the Samajwadi Party is united and will remain the same in the future as well.
"Samajwadi Party is one and at present everything is going right and will remain the same," Azam told ANI.
Azam added that if the Samajwadi Party loses, then it would be a bigger loss for the Muslim community as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would gain the deficit.
The 25-year-old political outfit was on the verge of a split, before a reconciliation took place between the two warring factions, one led by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, and the other by old guard Shivpal Yadav.
