Rejoicing over the declassification of files of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, his family members said now India is transparent.

"This is a historic day and today the files will be disclosed. This is a victory for the people who have the right to know about Subhas Chandra Bose. Now, it is a transparent India," said Chandra Bose, a relative.

The family members of Subhas Chandra Bose got emotional after seeing the declassified files at the National Archives here.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the digital copies of 100 files.

The file are digitised and given preliminary conservation treatment by the National Archives of India.

In 1997, the National Archives had received 990 declassified files pertaining to the Indian National Army from Defence Ministry.

In 2012, it received 1030 files and items pertaining to Khosla Commission and Justice Mukherjee Commission of Inquiry from Home Ministry.

All these files and items are already open to the public under the Public Records Rules, 1997.
