Minnows Netherlands outplayed England as they hammered them by 45 runs at the World T20 match played in Chittagong's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Monday.
That England could not get a grip of this wicket was evident in both bat and ball in contrast to the Dutch side which looked much stronger.
Chasing a target of 134 runs to win, the English side looked a dismal figure as hardly any batsmen could cross 18 runs as the entire team was bundled out on 88 runs. England had a batting collapse right from the start, Michael Lumb was the first casualty from the English side who fell to the fine bowling from Mudassar Bukhari.
Man of the Match Mudassar Bukhari's fine spell with the ball gave Netherlands the edge over England. Aiding him was his team-mate Logan van Beek who too scalped an identical three wickets that along with an all round show by his teammates had the last laugh as they relived the memories of 2009 win at Lord's when it had defeated England in World T20.
Earlier, when Netherlands came to bat first the team started on a brisk pace with three quick fours. Stephan Myburgh and Wesley Barresi from the Dutch side showed their grit as they went on scoring 39 and 48 runs respectively that helped Netherlands put a total to challenge England.
Stuart Broad's three wickets from the English side was the only bowler who tried to halt the runs coming from the Dutch side as Chris Jordan and Ravi Bopara chipped in by scalping one wicket each. The fielding lapses that have marred England's winter were prevalent once again in this game as well.
