Rococo Dessous of Switzerland, Monaco and New York have unveiled a line of intimate apparel made with innovative 24-karat gold thread.
The company's managing director, Sascha Hertil, told the ABC News that the thongs, bras, camisoles, slips and other 24 karat unmentionables are priced from 1,500 dollars to 6,000 dollars.
He said that "the innovation is the thread."
Sascha asserted that though there has been gold thread before, it used a different technology and could not be 24 karat.
Talking about Indian fashion, he said that the country has a long history of gold-thread-making that heats the metal, then steams it onto textiles, but the process does not work for gold of highest purity, which fails to attach.
Sascha said that they gold-plate the thread on an atomic level by the process which was invented two years ago in Switzerland.
Each object by the lingerie brand is produced from Swiss gold fabric, hand-stitched in New York and is made-to-order for our clients.
