National Football League's Kansas City Chiefs' supporters broke the noise world record for an outdoor sports stadium recently when they reached 137.5 decibels in the closing minutes of a 24-7 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
According to Metro.co.uk, that is not far off being as loud as the 140 decibels made by a jet engine flying at 100ft and breaks the previous best of 136.6 set just last month by Seattle Seahawks fans during a game against San Francisco.
Philip Robertson, the adjudicator from Guinness World Records who was on duty at both games, does not believe Premier League supporters are capable of making such a noise, even at big derby matches, the report said.
Robertson said that they had destroyed any Premier League hopes of attaining this record and he could say that despite being a Brit who loved the Premier League, adding that it was extraordinary.
The Raiders struggled with the soaring sound all afternoon and were flagged for 11 penalties, several of which were false starts and for delay of game because nobody in the visiting huddle could hear each other talking, the report added.
Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor admitted that it had been a tough environment, according to the report.
