The National Investigation Agency (NIA) special court in Kochi sentenced two persons to undergo 14 years of imprisonment and three others to 12 years after they were found guilty in connection with the 2006 secret meeting case.
The court had found the five guilty yesterday under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
According to the police, the five SIMI activists had assembled at an auditorium near Kochi for anti-national activities.
17 people were earlier accused in the case while 11 were acquitted. One who was 13 years old at the time of arrest is presently undergoing trial at a juvenile court.
