Nigerian High Commissioner O B Okongor on Wednesday dubbed the 'racist' remark made by Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Giriraj Singh as deplorable, saying his nation would initiate certain action but cautiously so that it does not destroy the bilateral relationship between both nations.

"We deplore the action, the comment by the honourable minister. We are not going to prompt the Government of India. But we will take certain actions which are considered appropriate," he said.
